Professional Fundraising Galas

Passion- Whether it is children, animals, the outdoors, a medical cause... I share your passion and couple it with the education, experience, stage presence, and intensity, to make your event more successful than ever.

WHY CHOOSE A PAID AUCTIONEER FOR MY FUNDRAISER?

The most common question I am asked is why won't you donate your time? Many times the person asking me that is offended that I charge anything at all. Folks, the auction industry is my profession, one that I am very passionate about and quite honestly, good at. I cannot tell you how many horror stories about the local auctioneer that we got to volunteer their time, that didn't show up, got drunk, people couldn't understand him, he got mad at us..... Typically speaking, a fundraising gala takes a herculean effort to pull off in a manner that makes it look effortless. It is the single event that generates the most money for an organization in a years time.
Who is responsible for sweet talking your generous donors to give your organization money that evening? Isn't it wise to place it in the hands of a professional that knows exactly what they are doing? I bought cars at auction for 25 years as a manager and a dealer, to resell. Those auctioneers are incredibly talented. Most of the general public would never be able to understand them. What happens if someone buys something but is not crystal clear on what they bought, or how much they paid? That and 100 other pitfalls will make an impact on the bottom line. That said, it is your choice. Pay for a professional, expect professional results. Ask for something for nothing? You cannot do it over.

Why Shawn J Dostie, Auctioneer?

Folks I have been on stage since about the 2nd grade. I was in a play, and everyone wanted the starring roles, as in Christmas, Birthday, Valentines Day. I was Mr. Every Day and was the star of the show. I was born and raised in the city, but moved to the country. I have a unique perspective in that I understand how both operate. The success of a fundraiser is to stay in tune, at an incredibly fast pace, with the people with the money. All that while managing the stress levels of the men and women that have worked tirelessly to pull the whole thing off. You need strength yet flexibility, iron will yet soft subtlety, you need massive energy. I am that professional.
