As an auctioneer, it comes with the job description, that I be able to adapt, at full speed, to any number of situations, distractions, problems, and anything that crops up, all while maintaining that cool professional exterior. I was brought up in this industry by an auctioneer that doesn't call bids. I have chewed the ears off my colleagues across the country, analyzing what I need to do with respect to the companies I work with. Last year, I joined forces with Ed and Ben Schafer, Auctioneers, and Ben Schafer Realty. I already do a lot of business with Gryphon USA, and with my company, Shawn J Dostie, Auctioneer, we present a lot of talent, knowledge and experience in the auction industry. Recently, I was asked to become one of 6 auction companies to found the Ohio Foreclosure Auction Group. One of the legislative changes with HB 390, and corresponding bills in the works, calls for all Foreclosure Auctions to be conducted online within 5 years. Folks, that is 60 months. The 16 county area that I am charged with, is full of auction customers that do not have email addresses, no internet, county infrastructure without a website, and the list goes on. My own farm has to have satellite internet, which anyone that has it, knows how unreliable it can be.

I was at a dinner with a group of attorneys, and one of my partners, Friday night, and through our conversation, it was apparent that what auctioneers seem to do, still mystifies people.
