How to choose an Auctioneer

First you need a professional, someone that has devoted a lot of time to the industry. A good indicator is that the individual maintains membership in both their State's and National Auctioneers Association. Like any other business, it is constantly evolving and the associations help the Auctioneer keep current. Another thing to look for is how they treat you. I am called "The Friendly Auctioneer" for a reason. I find it abhorrent that a professional would speak down to someone. Many people have differing views of our industry and it is my job to share with my clients with an in depth explanation of anything a client doesn't understand. It is also in my personality to be patient when a client disagrees with me. I have gone through a ton of education, study, and practice to get where I am today. From my perspective, I want to find the root reason of why each of us has the opinion we do. I might be wrong. I have been before many times in my life. If it comes to an impasse where it is apparent neither party is going to come to terms, there is no reason that we cannot part still respecting each others points of view.

Technology and it's use is very important. If you live in a small town, sometimes it is difficult to find the right bidders for a particular item. So far as I know, we are the only ones in our county that use the latest technology to open our boundaries to the worldwide web. I am not talking about posting on Craigslist or Ebay, but sites that allow us to offer your items to both local bidders on the spot, but internet bidders across the world as well. To receive the highest amount for your item, large or small, inconsequential or extremely rare, doesn't it make sense to get the word out to as many potential buyers as well? Take a look at what everyone offers then choose. Of course I would like you to choose us, but even if you don't.... we wish you every success.
